Katie's launch party....

Better Than a Box Katie over at the ever fabulous Kitchen Stewardship has a new book out and she is celebrating with a launch party. You really should wander over to her place and check it out HERE. She is super excited and is ready with lots of great sneak peaks at the book and the downloads that come with it and there are going to be a lot of really awesome giveaways attached to to it, so be sure to sign up for the feed so you will know what is going on.

Katie has been working really hard to pull together a great book to help American families eat delicious and familiar foods  which have been tweaked to be all natural, nourishing and scratch made. If you have ever found yourself at odds with the usual store bought ingredients found in your family recipes, this is the book for you. If you grew up eating Velveeta, Stove-Top Stuffing, canned soups, powdered soup and dressing mixes and struggled to make foods that are like the ones you used to have, only nourishing, this is your key to a happy but healthy family.

If you buy the book before Friday the 25th at 8 am then you can download the PDF for only $1.99 or get the Kindle version for only 99 cents (!!), after that it goes up to $16.95. It really is worth that considering the effort that went into the book. She starts off great with an explanation of how to "reverse engineer" your own recipes and how to substitute ingredients and how. Katie is not inconsiderate of your budget, she has a great section on how to make the best use of what it is in your pantry to use it up and replace it with healthier foods, so if you are transitioning to a traditional diet, this book will not scare you off. This is a critical step for newbies to scratch cooking and she is very sensitive to it. Interested in planned left-overs or bulk cooking? There is a full section on that including ideas of what to freeze for later and how to get it ready. You really should head over and get your hands on your copy before Friday to get in on that awesome deal.

I am also feeling pretty excited about the launch party because I made a (small) contribution to Katie's fabulous book. If you have ever read my post on spices (HERE) it might look familiar and so will my Better than Dried Onion Soup Mix from the same post. I was just giddy to see that in Katie's awesome book. But, the book as a whole is really packed, like her other books, and is full of cheerful and helpful information to get you started so even if you are familiar with her blog, there is still a lot there for you.

So, in the interest of being honest, I wanted you to know that I am an affiliate for Kitchen Stewardship and if you buy the PDF with the downloads, then I do get a portion of the sales. That said, I am not an Amazon affiliate and I get nothing if you buy the cheaper Kindle version. Either way, I think you should definitely buy the book, you will be glad you did. I got my own Kindle copy and I can tell you I am pretty thrilled with it.

Linking up to Fat Tuesday!
